Location: St. Paul Island (Zapadni Point), Pribilof Islands, Bering Sea off the west coast of Alaska
Type of Area: Treeless island terrain
Dates of Operation: WWII, 1941-1945
Facilities: WWII "Watch Houses" - rustic outposts for keeping watch for Japanese ships and planes
History: The Alaska Territorial Guard patrolled this island during World War II.  These forces kept a watch for Japanese ships and planes.  Skis were used to patrol and travel between "watch houses" on the island.
