Jim took this picture from the top of the ridge above the Ski Bowl (2/16/04). Pyramid Peak can be seen on the left, and its north slopes leading down toward Captains Bay. The Pan Alaska Ski Hill was near the base of this peak. Makushin Volcano can be seen in the distance on the right side of this picture. (click on this picture to expand it) |

[Jim Dickson - November 04, 2004 email excerpt] A second ski hill that is lost around here is the Pyramid Ski area; which was a rope tow built by Pan Alaska Fisheries in the early 1970's. The cannery superintendent was a avid skier, the hill was a local recreation site paid for by the cannery. |
