Research Correspondence
[Bob Janes - 22 February 2005 phone conversation with Tim Kelley]

Bob mentioned that there was once a trail that ran from near the base of Eaglecrest up to Cropley Lake.  This trail, starting at 1200 feet, was built by the Juneau Lions Club in 1975, around the same time Eaglecrest opened.  This trail was built to offer cross country skiers and hikers access to the high country.  The trail was used for ten years or so, but then it grew over due to lack of maintenance.
